The Friday Family Great Adventures Series is all about Discovery and Entertainment at the Virginia Beach oceanfront!  On select nights during the summer, families can take part in an interactive adventure that leads them to various sites along the boardwalk and Atlantic Avenue to unravel a mystery.  During each adventure, participants can dress up as characters, use “brain and brawn” to win the contest at hand, and settle into the sand for a family-friendly movie shown on a giant inflatable screen on the beach!  

Friday, June 25 – Operation Exploration

Meet on the beach at 27th Street at 6:00pm
6:00pm-8:00pm, scavenger hunt
8:00pm-10:00pm, movie

Explore the “secrets” of the Virginia Beach oceanfront resort in a fanciful scavenger hunt that culminates with the showing of “Journey to the Center of the Earth” on a giant inflatable movie screen on the beach!

A scientist whose radical theories have completely tarnished his reputation goes backpacking across Iceland and finds a cave that leads him deep down into the bowels of the planet. He follows it trying to find out what has happened to his missing brother.  He discovers a fantastic and dangerous lost world in the center of the earth filled with bizarre landscapes and terrifying creatures.

Operation Exploration is free and open to the public.
